Creating Impactful Research & Writing Projects Using Library Tools
POSTPONED
This event opens with a panel discussion featuring instructors and librarians sharing insights about using the UCLA Library’s Writing Instruction & Research Education digital toolkit (WI+RE) to design effective projects for courses of all sizes, from large lectures to small seminars. Panelists will discuss strategies for supporting students with varying skill levels, designing micro-lessons for lecture/section and homework, breaking down large assignments–and more! During the second half of the program, attendees will be able to meet with panelists in breakout rooms to identify practical steps for incorporating WI+RE tools into their own courses. Faculty and graduate student instructors in all disciplines are welcome to attend!
Panelists:
- Michelle Rensel – Assistant Adjunct Professor of Society & Genetics and Faculty Coordinator for the Biotechnology & Society Freshman Cluster
- Laurel Westrup – Continuing Lecturer in Writing Programs and Coordinator of the Graduate Certificate in Writing Pedagogy
- Robyn Price – Ph.D. Candidate in Archaeology and CAT Educational Development Fellow
