Each year the Center for the Advancement of Teaching’s TA Training Program organizes our annual TA Conference, designed to provide pedagogical training and role-specific support for both new and continuing TAs.
The 49th annual TA Conference will take place from September 12th – 16th, 2022. The TA Conference will be a hybrid event, held both remotely via Zoom and in-person on campus to allow students the flexibility to attend conference sessions and workshops in the modality that works best for them. This week-long conference will feature graduate-student led workshops and expert panels on topics ranging from building a foundational teaching toolkit, to inclusive and equitable teaching, to navigating the TA role in what continues to be an uncertain climate. Registration is now open.
The conference will offer CAT’s Foundations of Teaching workshop series throughout the week, both remotely via Zoom and in person on campus. We highly recommend students planning to TA in the 22-23 academic year take this series of workshops to prepare for their role and fulfill the workshops required by their department to satisfy the strengthened TA Training requirements for the departmental 495 disciplinary TA training course.
Descriptions of the workshops can be found in the registration page as well the Workshop Descriptions.
